Hot Lips Page remained very active throughout the final years of his short life. Not only did he record for a variety of record companies, but the kind of music he played was equally varied. In addition, he regularly played at clubs and visited Europe twice again in the early '50s. Despite his considerable popularity, he never became as famous as he certainly deserved to be. He often played and sang better "live" than in the studios. No doubt Hot Lips Page would have become a popular "mainstream" musician if he had not died only 18 months after these last recordings were made.
