It was in 1961 that a confident Minnesota 19-year-old calling himself Bob Dylan (Timothée Chalamet) came to NYC and ingratiated himself with idols Pete Seeger (Edward Norton) and Woody Guthrie (Scoot McNairy). The five years that followed, as he made his mark in the American folk music scene, pursued a liaison with singer Joan Baez (Monica Barbaro), and outraged purists by adopting electric arrangements of his work, are strikingly drawn in James Mangold's biopic.
