Product Notes
It's the goal of the master musician, isn't it: to marry technical prowess with beauty of tone? Not only has Salvatore Accardo been internationally acclaimed for that combination, but he's got a certain effortlessness to his playing that let's the music shine forth in it's purest form, like there's nothing separating the intentions of the composer from the reaction of the listener. Here, performed on Salvatore's priceless 1717 Stradivarius, is Accardo's highly prized complete Paganini cycle for Deutsche Grammophon including the complete violin concertos recorded with Charles Dutoit and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. You also get the "24 Caprices," "Sonata Napoleone," "I Palpiti," "Perpetuela," "Variations on 'God Save the King'" and more. It's all been newly remastered at 96/24 from original sources, so the sound quality is simply stunning, and the booklet includes liner notes and cover art from the original vinyl releases. Just as with Paganini himself, technical wizardry is most definitely at play on these renowned recordings but it's the beauty of the music that predominates! Deutsche Grammophon.
