Bach: Orchestral Suites Nos. 1 & 2 / Conductor: Jean-François Paillard, Orchestre de Jean-Francois Paillard, Composer: Johann Sebastian Bach Music lovers of a certain age-but still not so old -, have probably not forgotten the vinyl recordings of Jean-Francois Paillard for Erato firm. Founded in 1953 by Philippe Loury and closed in 2001 by Warner, the record label is reborn from it's ashes a little with the Apex label that regularly offers us reissues "Digitally Remastered". It was also in 1953 that began the career of the late Jean-Francois Paillard with the instrumental ensemble Jean-Marie Leclair which will become in 1959 the Chamber Orchestra Jean-Francois Paillard. Surrounded by the best French soloists (Maurice André, Jean-Pierre Rampal...), the legendary conductor will become the pillar of Erato discs, ensuring best sellers (concerto for flute and harp by Mozart, Pachelbel's Canon, concertos Bach's Brandenburg...) Bach is in the spotlight with the first two orchestral suites.
