His contact and traveling companion seems to know much more about the operation than he does, but despite his best efforts, he can't get any additional information out of her. Things go awry when Ladislas decides to steal the gold for himself, setting off an international game of cat and mouse. Filmed in Switzerland, Spain, Greece, Italy, France and Lebanon. Based on the novel by Clet Coroner. Written by Jean Becker, Daniel Boulanger, Maurice Fabre, Didier Goulard, Luis Marquina and Claude Sautet. Cinematography by Edmond Sechan and Jean-Paul Schwartz.
