The story concerns a young couple, played by Alec Baldwin and Geena Davis, who are killed in an accident and end up haunting their beloved country home. When a new family moves in to their house, the new ghosts find themselves unable to drive away the annoying yuppies. Desperate to get rid of the intruders they call upon Beetlejuice, an unreliable ghost who claims to be able to exorcise the living.
