In the late '60s, Chicago housewife Joy (Elizabeth Banks) was faced with a life-threatening pregnancy and a hospital that refused termination-and desperately turned to an underground women's network known as the "Jane Collective" for a safe abortion. While pledging her support, she finds herself being wheedled into activism by collective chief Virginia (Sigourney Weaver)... at possibly shattering personal consequence.
