Stress and anxiety are the norm for veteran air traffic controller Nick Culver (George Peppard), but when a mid-air collision kills hundreds under his watch, the strain multiplies affecting his personal life as much as his career. Turning to incessant smoking and pills to ease his nerves, Culver finds his marriage in shambles while he fights for his job.
