Product Notes
Danish director Lars von Trier's ("Breaking the Waves") audacious neo-musical is set in an early '60s Pacific Northwest town. Czech immigrant factory worker Selma Jezkova (Björk), slowly losing her eyesight, tries to raise money for an operation to keep her son from developing the same condition. Selma's only escape from her dreary life comes in fantasy song-and-dance sequences inspired by Hollywood films, but reality leads to tragedy when the money is stolen. David Morse, Catherine Deneuve, Peter Stormare and Joel Grey also star. 141 min. Widescreen (Enhanced); Soundtracks: English Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital stereo; Subtitles: English.
