Product Notes
From 1952-'56, David Niven joined fellow Hollywood luminaries Ida Lupino, Charles Boyer and Dick Powell in Star Performance (also known as Four Star Playhouse), an anthology series in which each actor took the lead role on a weekly basis. He series, which ran on CBS, earned 14 Emmy nominations during it's run, including one for Niven in 1952 for Best Continuing Performance by an Actor in a Dramatic Series. NO IDENTITY: A new marriage is threatened to the breaking point when the husband determines to adopt a young orphan boy he has befriended. THE COLLAR: A priest who had been held captive for a decade by Indians, appear before a cavalry Colonel to beg him to spare the lives of the very tribe that tortured him. THE FIRING SQUAD: The commander of a desert outpost in North Africa forces a young officer to lead the firing squad in the first-ever execution of an Australian soldier. TOUCH AND GO: A newspaper editor turns to a wealthy school chum to ask for a loan, but when the friend refuses and is later found dead, the man is accused of murder.
