David Carradine is Charlie Swattle, a World War I deserter who sets his sights on winning a St. Louis-San Francisco motorcycle race. The smooth-talking Charlie is not above using every underhanded trick in the book to get what he wants out of people, including convincing the Army buddies he skipped out on to work as his pit crew.
