Product Notes
This warm and tender comedy features Stanley Banks (Spencer Tracy) and his wife, Ellie (Joan Bennett). Stanley is returning home from the office in a happy and energetic mood, when his wife Ellie tells him that they are having dinner with their daughter Kay (Elizabeth Taylor), and her husband Buckley (Don Taylor). The couple have some important news they want to share. When Kay reveals that she is pregnant, everyone is delighted, except Stanley, who believes he is too young to be a grandfather. Ellie throws Kay a baby shower and even suggests they redecorate their home so that Kay and Buckley can move in with them once the baby is born. Stanley has had enough, and puts his foot down, and is none too happy until the baby arrives. Once Kay gives birth, Stanley's attitude softens as he adapts to his new role in the baby's life. This entertaining sequel follows the great success of Father of the Bride made the previous year and reunites the cast. The film is truly a real classic - unforgettable and funny! (82 minutes - 1951 - Black & White - 4:3).
