Product Notes
Classic Hollywood offers another compassionate melodrama of the heart in his tale of a woman who loves unwisely, flees her past and finds new love only to have the past cast it's shadow on her happiness. Kay Francis plays Belinda Warren, the trusting plaything of a titled Englishman (Patric Knowles) with an invalid wife. Belinda gives birth to their child, and then let's her caddish lover adopt the baby. Later she marries a good man (George Brent), but the memory of her lost child haunts her, threatening to tear her marriage apart. The film's poignancy is comically offset by deliciously wry work from co-star Roland Young and elegantly offset by chic flats, tinkling cocktail glasses and a knockout array of bias-cut gowns for the heartbroken leading lady.
