At the time Josh Bogin made this album, most recordings of children singing took place in studios or concert halls, and they lacked spontaneity. By contrast, Bogin here captures kids under natural conditions, in their classrooms at the Durham Child Development Center in Philadelphia. They sing along with him and his guitar, get distracted, clap, and just have a good time. Among the 10 tracks are classic songs such as "Skip to My Lou" and "Pick a Bale of Cotton." Liner notes include song lyrics and transcriptions of some of the comments the children make on the recording, as well as a brief account of how Bogin became inspired to create this album.
