Product Notes
In 1964, the British were coming! Now, 60 years later, the British are coming back, but this time everything is in state-of-the-art stereo. The re-invasion begins with a superstar group that featured two of the greatest guitarists of all time - Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck. These first two hits by the Yardbirds have been all but impossible to find on any CDs, until now. Stereo Explosion #12 includes the only CD anywhere with the U.S. version of the Animals' "House of the Rising Sun," as well as the very rare U.S. version of the early Stones classic, "Time Is On My Side." Plus tons more early British rock in stereo from the Who, the Kinks, Them, Dave Clark Five, Manfred Mann and Wayne Fontana. Not to mention the best of British POP including Cliff Richard's first U.K. hit and great stereo remixes from Herman's Hermits, Dusty Springfield and the Seekers. For collectors, this volume includes two versions of the Tornadoes' worldwide No. 1 instrumental, "Telstar," including the newly discovered "Tea Chest Tapes" alternate mix with different sound effects, in superior stereo. Includes a 12-page booklet with liner notes by Fred Bronson. 27 songs all in Stereo! AUDIOPHILE QUALITY... CREATED BY COLLECTORS FOR COLLECTORS. Hit Parade Records (import).
