Pop star Rick Springfield stars as James Roberts, a famous rock-and-roller who falls for Diana Lawson (Janet Eilber) a laid-back woman who has never heard of him and who seems totally immune to his charms. James is up to the challenge and relentlessly pursues her but their fledgling romance is complicated by Nicky (Patti Hansen), James' ex-girlfriend and current bandmate.
