A young drifter is suspected of murder in this stirring production from writer/director Alan Le May (best known for writing The Searchers). John Drew Barrymore stars as \Cooncat\, a troubled young man who has to steal to survive. With no friends in West Texas, he falls in with some bad customers who involve him in some terrible crimes. The strong cast includes Chill Wills, Jack Elam, and John Archer, with cinematography by Oscar winner W. Howard Greene.
