Product Notes
One of the most important figures in Chicago blues of the 1970’s and 1980’s, Willie Clayton will always be remembered for his remarkable voice and impeccable phrasing. A favorite of both soul and blues fans alike, Clayton has been performing since the late 1960’s and has had a string of chart successes. In 1980 he recorded an album for the legendary Swamp Dogg’s S.D.E.G. label entitled “IF YOUR LOVING WASN'T GOOD ENOUGH TO KEEP ME...HOW IN THE WORLD DO YOU THINK IT CAN BRING ME BACK?” Clayton duets with Swamp Dogg on the track “Cheating In The Daylight” which was written by Swamp Dogg and Bob Jones and recorded at Swamp Dogg’s House in Northridge, California. An often overlooked soul blues gem, the album finally sees the light of day in the digital domain with all tracks newly remastered.
