Product Notes
This emotional, impressionistic biography of Ludwig von Beethoven (played here by Gary Oldman) builds it's narrative around an letter found after his death, addressed only to the composer's "immortal beloved." Filmed around Prague, it's a sumptuous looking and sounding film, with the music of Beethoven so elegantly conducted by Sir Georg Solit and the London Symphony Orchestra. Also starring Isabella Rossellini, Valeria Golino, Jeroen Karabbe and Johanna Ter Steege. Includes: audio commentary by writer/director Bernard Rose, "Beloved Beethoven" documentary and "making of" featurette. (1994) Running time: 120 minutes.
