From a rural village in Japanese-occupied China, Kwan Mei patiently leads a secret resistance. When an American plane is shot down nearby, they spring to action despite the risk, to rescue their American allies. Meanwhile the arrival of the notorious General Kaimura to the area heralds a major operation. In order to uncover the Japanese plans, Kwan Mei takes a great risk and allows herself to be presented to the general as an aristocrat who wishes to be his companion.
