Product Notes
British tenor Allan Clayton attended St. John's College, Cambridge and the Royal Academy of Music. From 2007 to 2009 he was a BBC New Generation Artist, and he was the recipient of the first Sir Elton John Scholarship at the Royal Academy of Music, as well as the John Christie Award, and a fellowship from the Borletti-Buitoni Trust. He has performed at the Aix-en-Provence Festival and the Glyndebourne Festival, and appeared in operatic roles for the Théâtre du Capitole Toulouse, the Netherlands Opera, the Wiener Festwochen, the Bayerische Staatsoper, the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Opera North, Glyndebourne on Tour, the New York City Opera, the Opéra-Comique in Paris, the English National Opera, and the Komische Oper Berlin. Clayton has also given concert performances with the BBC Symphony Orchestra, the Gürzenich Orchestra of Cologne, Les Violons du Roy, and the the London Sinfonietta. As a recitalist, Clayton has performed art songs with pianists Graham Johnson, Roger Vignoles, Julius Drake, Malcolm Martineau, Paul Lewis, Simon Lepper, James Baillieu, and Joseph Middleton. He has recorded for LSO Live, EMI, the London Handel Society, and Signum Classics.
