Product Notes
Madame X, in it's sixth and most lavish screen version, gives glamorous Lana Turner one of the best roles of her career. Alexandre Bissons classic play, which has been remade more than any other film in history, takes on new intensity in this stunning 1966 Ross Hunter production and is filled with rich detail and emotional impact. Ill-fated Holly Anderson (Turner) is blackmailed by her evil mother-in-law (Constance Bennett) into leaving her politician husband (John Forsythe) and their baby. In a sad twist of faith, twenty years later she finds herself on trial for murder, inadvertently defended by her own son (Keir Dullea) contemplating on revealing her identity.
