Missing Witnesses

A secret, criminal mastermind organizes the rackets into one overwhelming mob and sets an entire city under siege. As gangs run riot, law enforcement fights a losing battle, and the citizenry has been scared into silence. Desperate, the governor commissions a special antigang strike force under the by-the-book direction of intrepid Inspector Robert L. Lane (John Litel). When fist-flying flatfoot Bull Regan (Dick Purcell) disrupts an operation, Inspector Lane recruits him into the secret agency, with one condition. Bull needs to learn to use his mind more than his muscle in the fight against crime. It's a condition that's quickly put to the test when their new star witness, secretary Mary Norton (Jean Dale), goes missing and quickly becomes the prime suspect in the murder of her boss, respectable businessman Ward Sturgis (Harland Tucker).
