Product Notes
Fresh from Gone with the Wind, Olivia de Havilland was eager to continue in demanding roles. Those roles (and Academy Awards) would come. But after GWTW's Melanie came a spun-sugar romp starring de Havilland as talented violin-student Amelia. The doting CEO of Monarch Music Co. Secretly gives Amelia the funds to stay in school, a Monarch exec smitten by Amelia feels he must cover up the boss's affair, the CEO's ambitious son thinks funds missing from Monarch's books are embezzled by the exec - and Cupid's arrows fly. With the misunderstandings and missteps comes music fit for lively stepping as fellow students Eddie Albert and Jane Wyatt join Olivia in turning classical pieces into the swinging sounds of the era.
