"This record is more direct, honest, and from the heart," Cavanaugh affirms. "It's 80% of an Anathema record we would've made, plus a continuation of what I was doing. For example, if Anathema was Game of Thrones, then Weather Systems is House of the Dragon. It's part of the same universe, but it's a new story. It's a bit heavier, but, in my opinion, it captures what made 'Weather Systems' our best Anathema album. In a way, 'Ocean Without A Shore' is like it's sequel."
