Product Notes
The brilliant and consistently inventive composer and pianist Thierry Maillard has had a very productive career, leading at least 21 albums so far. But until now, his 1998 debut, Paris/New York, has only been available in Europe. Now finally, 24 years later, the Ghost Note label is making it easy for American listeners to appreciate how talented Maillard was at the beginning of his brilliant solo career.
Thierry Maillard : Piano John Patitucci : bass Dennis Chambers : Drums Recorded and mixed in NEW YORK in February 1997 at the Sound of Sound studio. "This disc will remain one of the best memories of my life. Indeed, a first album with 2 sacred monsters of jazz, John Patitucci and Dennis Chambers, recorded in New York at the Sound of Sound studio in 1997, was an incredible opportunity for the young musician that I was... We recorded this record live in just 2 days and in analog. I will remember all my life the emotion I felt during the first notes, I could not play, I was listening and swimming in happiness. I am happy to be able to introduce this record to those who do not know it. Thanks to my producer at the time, the late Franc Hagege to whom I dedicate this reissue." Thierry Maillard
