An inventor, pioneer, songwriter and musician, Lester William Polsfuss built one of the first solid-body electric guitars in 1940 whose development made the distinctive sound of rock and roll possible. His innovative talents and playing style made him an inspiration to countless present day guitarists. Not only is Les Paul inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (in 1988), he is one of a handful of musicians that has been honored with a permanent stand-alone exhibit there.
