Product Notes
The Proud Rebel is an American western starring Alan Ladd, Olivia de Havilland and Harry Dean Stanton. The story is about a widowed Confederate veteran and his mute son who struggle to make a new life among hostile neighbors in the American Midwest. John Chandler (Alan Ladd) is travelling through an Illinois town with his 10-year-old son David (David Ladd) to see a doctor. The locals try to steal David's dog and his father fights them off, but is threatened to be taken to jail by the sheriff. Much prejudice and hostility are woven into this movie, but love and compassion triumph in the end. (102 minutes - 1958 - Color - 4:3).
