Product Notes
Originally produced by Republic Pictures, the Red Ryder movies were based on the character created by Fred Harman for his newspaper comic strip, which ran from 1938 to 1964. Legend has it that Red Ryder and his faithful sidekick Little Beaver would go wherever needed, to defend the innocent, bring crooks to justice and restores the peace. In Rustlers of Devil's Canyon (1947) Red Ryder returns from the Spanish-American war to find his hometown community overrun with rustlers. Outright war erupts between the homesteaders and ranchers and Red Ryder must determine who is behind the havoc and put a stop to it. The second feature, Santa Fe Uprising (1946), has our heroes Red Ryder and Little Beaver rescuing the Duchess from a morally depraved civic leader who has put her in grave danger.
