Charles Perrault's fairy tales, which include the stories of Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella, embody the French oral tradition, yet they are known throughout the world. On this album Robert Franc reads "Puss in Boots," "Blue-Beard," "Richard with the Tufted Hair," and "Cinderella" in their original French. A second volume entitled Contes de Perrault, Vol. 2: French Fairy Tales Read in French by Robert Franc includes "Sleeping Beauty," "The Fairies," "Little Red Riding Hood," and "Tom Thumb."
