Thwarted in his attempts to study classical music in Europe, Roy Bargy played piano after school at local movie houses. In 1919, Imperial Player Rolls Company chose him as it's new star to compete with QRS' Zez Confrey, novelty rag composer extraordinaire (see Folkways FW0RF28 and FWRBF45). This recording contains Bargy's collected ragtime compositions.
