Following the collapse of her father's business, penniless socialite Jeannette Desmereau (Claudette Colbert) takes a job working with gruff magazine editor Cyrus Anderson (Fred MacMurray) and charming writer Jack Bristow (Robert Young). Before you can say "battle of the sexes," Jeannette and Cyrus transform their bickering into romance-and wedding plans.
