Product Notes
For more than half a century, Jack Clement has found himself surrounded by some of the world's greatest singers, songwriters, and instrumentalists. This was no accident. His brilliance was recognized early on by Sam Phillips whose Sun Records studio was the cradle of rock 'n' roll. A short list of the artists who have worked with Jack includes: Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings, Chet Atkins, Elvis Presley, Kris Kristofferson, Paul McCartney, Townes Van Zandt, and Jerry Lee Lewis. Beyond country music, Clement produced three tracks for U2's Rattle and Hum sessions and an album for Louis Armstrong. In other ventures, he built four of Nashville's leading studios, produced a cult classic horror film and made perhaps the world's first music video with Don Williams in 1972, nine years before MTV launched. Riding the trail between Monty Python and Blazing Saddles, this film inspires with lessons of creativity, mortality, and the risk and glory of a self-made life.
