Product Notes
Written by Christopher Durang and directed by Marshall Brickman (The Manhattan Project), this all-star cast features Diane Keaton as Sister Mary, and Brian Benben, Wallace Langham and Laura San Giacomo as the former students whose lives were forever scarred by the teachings of the dogmatic nun. A confrontation between students and teacher is the central event of a Christmas lecture given by Sister Mary, when her former students co-opt the classic pageant and turn the Sister's original teachings on their head. The revisionist portrayal of the biblical story highlights her students' disillusionment and disappointment. Their lifestyle choices provoke Sister Mary's intolerance and anger, resulting in an eruption of violence. Executive produced by Kirk Stambler and Victoria Tennant.
