Product Notes
Since establishing Inside Sounds in 1992, Eddie Dattel has been the catalyst in the creation and development of the Memphis Archives label along with Inside Memphis, Inside Sounds Classic and Psychorock Record labels. He has production credits on nearly fifty CD releases in diverse genres from classical to comedy. His work with WONDERS: The Memphis International Cultural Series has helped to gain national exposure for several Memphis musicians and to generate tens of thousands of CD sales. While the WONDERS series may be one of his most notable accomplishments, he has contributed significantly to the careers of several Memphis artists including Daddy Mack Blues Band, Sandy Carroll, Billy Gibson, Klaudia & Rico, Becc Lester, Wally Ford, The Memphis Sheiks and others. On his debut recording Sketches & Revelations, Dattel steps beyond the circle he normally occupies and surrounds himself with many of the musicians he has worked with over the years to produce a recording of thirteen original songs of varied musical influences. The songs themselves reveal his reflections on love, luck, life and his hometown. They are well-crafted and melodic expressions of someone who has been places but still continues to search. Through his song he examines his experiences from the perspective of a singer/songwriter willing to keep it simple while at the same time refusing to keep his heart out of the mix.
