Vanessa Williams returns to recorded music after a 15-year hiatus with an eclectic Pop album entitled, Survivor. This brilliant 14-track set is colored with warm hues of Williams' diverse musical tastes and delicious vocals. There are pulsating dance tracks such as "BOP!" (where she is joined by Trixie Mattel and LION BABE) and "Legs (Keep Dancing)." The album also offers Top 40-styled anthems like the title cut; and infectious Pop/Soul, like the breezy, "iLike Moonlight." Further, Survivor is sprinkled with vocal jazz inspired covers, originally recorded by the likes of Frank Sinatra and Natalie Cole, with Vanessa treating us to her version of Cab Calloway's "Zaz Zuh Zaz" featuring the horn work by the incomparable Wynton Marsalis! This new album is a welcomed reintroduction to Vanessa Williams, a true and beloved musical survivor!
