Product Notes
Genevieve is an independent and mischievous young teen determined to seek romance and adventure even after arriving at Miss Paddles boarding school. She sets her sights on a dashing older man named Richard, whom all her classmates are secretly in love with. Intent on pursuing the flapper lifestyle, Genevieve encounters several adventures, including a late evening ball, a party in Manhattan, and a jewel theft, the last of which causes her to reconsider the fantasy world she's gotten caught up in. Pittsburgh-based Olive Thomas won a beauty contest while working a Manhattan department store. The publicity ended up netting her a spot in the Ziegfeld Follies and jump-started her film career. She appeared in silent's such as Madcap Madge (1917) and Indiscreet Corinne (1917). She died rather tragically at the young age of 25 after accidentally overdosing on mercury bi chloride.
