Product Notes
Gary Cooper and Madeleine Carroll star in the imaginative and exciting thriller the General Died at Dawn from Academy Award winning director Lewis Milestone. O'Hara (Cooper), a mysterious American soldier of fortune, tries to foil the ambitions of General Yang (Akim Tami off), a ruthless warlord who plans to take over the provinces of northern China. On route to Shanghai with money to buy arms for the oppressed peasants, O'Hara is lured into Yangs clutches by a beautiful American (Madeleine Carroll). An intriguing game of double-cross ensues with O'Hara battling overwhelming odds in a deadly struggle against tyranny. Exotic settings and powerful cinematography highlight this classic tale of courage and heroism in the Orient.
