Over a year ago, Elizabeth Alden plunged over a twisting mountain road to her death. So how come lawman Abel Marsh sees her driving through town? It's a mystery; one with a terrific surprise ending. Well remembered as Mayberry's amiable sheriff in the Andy Griffith Show, Griffith pins on a badge again as Abel Marsh, police chief of the hamlet of Jasper Lake where the scenery is gorgeous, the folks are low-key funny and the clues pile up. Like no ambulance crew seems to have picked up Elizabeth's body. In fact, no one seems to have seen the body. And Abel begins to wonder if anyone rests in Elizabeth's grave.
