"P-Vine", as the opening track for their 2007 release Blues Harp Diggers-Groovy Instrumentals. Billy Gibson has been celebrated throughout the world and has recently performed in Norway, Canada, and U.S. Virgin Islands. The "Beale Street Entertainer of the Year" has been honored with a key to the city for his cultural contribution to his adopted hometown of Memphis. He is widely considered to be one of the most charismatic blues performers today. Lannie McMillan. Sir James Edward (Lannie McMillan) Cotton Ridge Recording/ASCAP Lannie McMillan (tenor sax), Pat Fusco (piano), Scott Reed (bass), Austin Bradley (drums). Daddy Mack Blues Band, Stone Blues (Mack Orr) Inside Sounds Pub./BMI Daddy Mack (guitar), James Bonner (rhythm guitar), Harold Bonner (bass), William Faulkner (drums). Recorded at Inside Sounds Produced by, Billy Gibson From the 2006 CD release Bluestones To say "Mack is Back" is an understatement. As Bluestones reached #3 on the national Blues radio charts and further established The Daddy Mack Blues Band as one of the most exciting blues bands on the festival circuit, the feature documentary Plain Man Blues was already in the works and is currently receiving critical acclaim in major blues publications. Daddy Mack's fiery, emotional, Blues guitar playing is likely to turn the heads of the often disappointed critics wading through piles of CDs at Guitar Player magazine. Shelby Bryant, Plunk Shelby Bryant (piano), programming Recorded by Kevin Houston at Inside Sounds Produced by Shelby Bryant The character Shelby, musical wiz in Craig Brewer's Academy Award winning Hustle & Flow, is based on the real life Shelby Bryant, no less a musical genius. Currently living and teaching somewhere in Asia or maybe Africa, his keyboard skills are legendary. After obsessing over Bach for nearly a decade, he spent his high school years studying gospel piano with Derrick Jackson, musician extraordinaire. His imaginative and undeniably original music is heard in films and is also available on the indie label Smells Like Records. McCarty-Hite Project. Zulu Stomp (Jim McCarty, Richard Hite & Danny Lancaster) Inside Sounds Pub./BMI Jim McCarty (drums/ percussion), Richard Hite (bass), Brad Webb (guitar), Danny Lancaster (guitar), Robert Tooms (piano), Ken Soltys (trumpet). The former Canned Heat bassist and Yardbirds' drummer relaxed in the studio for an extended weekend while elements of Blues, Rock and Jazz landed on two-inch analog tape. A full CD's worth of music was recorded and received across the board critical praise. "Zulu Stomp" is the only instrumental from the CD. Sadly, Richard Hite passed away in September, 2001.
