Product Notes
The Promise stars Kathleen Quinlan and Stephen Collins as two star-crossed lovers who forced apart by betrayal in this moving love story. A car accident leaves Michael Hillyard (Collins) comatose and tragically disfigures Nancy McCallister (Quinlan). Michael's mother (Beatrice Straight) needs him for the family business and sees this as an opportunity to separate the two and destroy their relationship. She offers to pay for plastic surgery if Nancy promises to never see her son again. Convinced Michael could no longer love her, Nancy accepts the offer. Believing Nancy was killed in the accident, Michael throws himself into his career. A year later, he is assigned to a project in San Francisco, where Nancy has assumed a new identity to go with her new face. When their paths cross, Michael finds himself mysteriously drawn to this beautiful but bitter stranger.
