Broadway impresario Chuck Daly (Dick Powell) has suffered through a string of flops. But the kids at his alma mater don't know that. They're counting on Chuck to turn their varsity show hash into a smash!

Powell leads an A+ cast of coed cuties and BMOC, including film-debuting sisters Priscilla and Rosemary Lane and fluty-voiced comic character star Sterling Holloway, in this exuberant college musical. Can Chuck save the show? Well, with Busby Berkeley creating and directing a rah-rah, football-themed finale featuring overhead shots, kinetic camerawork and hundreds of dancers terpsichoring away on a 50 ft.-by-60 ft. Staircase, you can bet everybody graduated summa cum zowie!
