This is the new Ubiquity drum break series from mad producer/vocalist/drummer Shawn Lee, formerly of Kansas, now based in London. He's behind the hugely successful "Planet of the Breaks" volumes 1 and 2. "Ape Breaks" is a back to basics drum break record, with 22 breaks on CD, and 19 on vinyl. BPMs are listed for easy reference and range from 64-124. All tight, bright, and bouncy beats are recorded live, and effects and processing tricks are kept to a minimum so producers can sample and apply their own flavor as necessary.
