Knowing that our heart's journeys begin at birth, perhaps even conception, I was surprised that I became accutely aware of mine one night while watching a friend perform. It seemed, sitting there in the dark, that the two halves of me collided: the 17 year-old girl, who years before had come to New York City and had the honor of being the vocalist, in concert, with the incredible Marvin Hamlisch for 12 years;and the active mother and wife, who for the last decade has been a perfectly happy woman. I was watching a Cabaret Show. The very definition of this art form is what I instantly knew had been missing in me before I 'collided'with myself seconds before in the dark. My new journey began. First, I opened my ears and the music came pouring in. This music, these songs, are the ones I picked to help chronicle my journey up till now, My journey... The road I'm on... The direction go. How I went looking for the art and found even more of my life along the way. The way: The way we learn and feel and speak; the way we cry and give and take;the way we move forward, keep going, carry on; the way of the heart. Everyone's journey is different, as is everyone's inspiration for being on the path to begin with. I am grateful to be on mine and blessed that I get to put what I've learned on a disc. I can't imagine anything better then being here, meeting other human beings along the way and sharing a bit of each others journeys as we go.
