In this satirical black comedy-drama, the troubled mayor of a small German town faces pressure from all sides as he navigates political and personal pitfalls. Hindafing is a village so deep in the Bavarian backwoods it doesn't even have it's own autobahn exit - yet. It's nightlife is dominated by a truck stop and a beer hall, it's soccer team aspires to qualify for the ninth division next season, and it's biggest employer is a faux-organic slaughterhouse. Mayor Alfons Zischl Jr. (Maximilian Brückner, Reformation, Arctic Circle) has his own problems... he's neck-deep in debt, his Mercedes has been seized, he has a bad drug habit, he's been kidnapped and locked in a freezer... and that's just the beginning of the story! A quirky cast of bizarre characters inhabits the town, each with their own idiosyncratic agenda. Zischl faces long odds as he frantically attempts to navigate his political and personal survival, all while facing a daunting reelection campaign.
