Product Notes
WHO IS JULIA? is a science-fiction drama that questions the very nature of identity and what it means to be human in these days of rapid, scientific advancement. When beautiful fashion model, Julia North is struck by a car, a strange and fascinating series of events are set into motion. Elsewhere, an ordinary housewife, Mary Frances (Mare Winningham), has a brain hemorrhage. Both women are presumed dead until their fates are joined in what becomes the first ever brain transplant. After a brilliant surgeon (Jeffrey DeMunn) transplants Julia's still functioning brain into Mary Frances' body, Julia must contend with her new face and life. Mary Frances' husband (Jameson Parker) must also adjust to his wife who looks the same, but has a very different mind operating behind that familiar smile. Two-time Emmy« Award winner Mare Winningham proves pitch perfect in the difficult dual role making the strange and harrowing tale also a very real glimpse into what could be our near future.
